God Provides for His Own

I wanted to share a short encouragement. As I sit looking out the window this morning God reminded me once again how our awesome God provides for His own.

Here in Elizabethtown KY we are in the third day of the leftovers of an ice storm. The trees, grass and anything not covered still has layers of ice that has not melted.

I enjoy feeding the birds and watching them. They appear not to have a care in the world. They seem so happy as they feast at the “bed and breakfast” provided on my porch. However, I noticed particularly on the tail of the doves, frozen droplets of ice. Some have actually lost a few tail feathers. And yet they carry on trusting in the care of their Maker.

Jesus reminded me of His Words in Matthew 6:

26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

It was a light bulb moment. In this area were everything is frozen, God in His infinite wisdom made sure this bird lady had seed that she could put out to care for His creatures. Therefore, we too, do not have to worry and fret in these days in which we live. If we are followers and a child of the Most-High…

We can rest assured that God provides for His own.
