Yesterday I attended the celebration of a VIP. Barbie Clark is an awesome woman of God, and I was honored to attend this celebration to this precious woman.
Women like Barbie are rare in our day and age. In a world of “it’s all about me”, she considered others above herself. Barbie transitioned from life on this earth to Life in her Saviors Kingdom. Barbie was 57.
Precious in the sight of the LORD Is the death of His saints. Psa 116:15
Barbie and I attended the same church together at one time. Both of us sang God’s praises on the Praise team. I liked her instantly as we had kindred spirits. We both had our hair spikey and loved wild colorful clothes. Most of all we enjoyed laughing and worshiping the Lord.
The celebration was packed with family and friends that she had touched during her years on earth. Barbie’s life here on earth, like so many others, held pain and heartache. Both physically and spiritually. But like Job, she would not curse God for her afflictions. She became stronger and a powerful instrument for the Lord’s glory. Yes, this was the celebration of a VIP!
When a Loved One Dies
When a loved one dies, some blame God and others turn their backs and walk away. For families that do not have a relationship with the Lord, there is no celebration. There is no hope of seeing them again, so they think.
However, according to scripture, we will all live for eternity in one of two places. With God in His eternal Kingdom or with the fallen angels and Satan in the lake of fire.
“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live. Deu 30:19
Exhale and Breath In
What we consider death is actually the first day of life eternal in the realm of God’s glory and grace. There we finally are able to exhale out the sinful realm of earth and breath in the beauty prepared for those who have chosen to follow Jesus Christ.
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” 1Co 2:9
Barbie chose wisely and will never deal with pain and heartache again. I am sure she heard the precious words of her Savior say “well done my faithful daughter. Enter into the rest of the kingdom prepared for you before the creation of the world”. Matt 25:34
I’ll see you again Barbie and together we will dance, sing, and laugh before our King of kings and Lord of lords for all eternity.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Rev 21:4
Until we meet again, I am, Passionately Loving Jesus, The Anchor of my soul!
