Jesus Is The Greatest Gift

Jesus is the greatest gift ever given. However, like any gift, you must accept and unwrap it to enjoy what has been given. Sadly, believe it or not, some people often refuse gifts. Others may accept it but stash it away and forget about it.

16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

John 3:16-17 NKJV

Likewise, the greatest gift of Eternal Life through Jesus is a gift that cost Him everything. He alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and no one comes to the Father in Heaven except through Him (see John 14:5-6). You can not be good enough, or work hard enough to gain entrance into Heaven on your own.

The Greatest Gift of God

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV

You must believe in the work and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. However, what does it mean to believe in Jesus Christ?

The Christian Bible

We are living in perilous times. You only need to watch/listen to the news to see that the world has gone absolutely insane. We are quickly coming to the end of this age as we know it. Jesus Christ is returning to set up His kingdom to rule and reign in righteousness.

the greatest gift - Bible

No other manuscript other than the Christian Bible gives us prophecies beforehand concerning events in our past that have been fulfilled exactly with 100 percent accuracy. There is not one fulfilled prophecy in any of the sayings of Confucius, Buddha, the Koran, the Hindu Vedras, or the Book of Mormon. Fulfilled prophecy is a unique characteristic of the Bible.

100 percent accuracy

Jesus fulfilled 100 prophecies with 100 percent accuracy when He came to earth 2000 years ago. Never doubt that He will fulfill with 100 percent accuracy the rest at His second coming.

For those of us who truly follow Him, we will be part of His kingdom for all eternity. Those who choose to ignore Him will spend eternity with Satan and his demons. Therefore, we all need to ask ourselves: “Where will I spend eternity when I take my last breath?” We only have two choices.

A: Will we live eternally in the presence of Father God (our Creator), Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit or…
B: Will we exist eternally where Satan and his demons will be sent?

Did you know? According to a 2021 Barna survey 69% of American adults self-identify as “Christian”. However, only 6% of those who claim to be Christians and say they believe in Jesus, have a biblical worldview.

Could it be possible that your faith in Christ is a counterfeit version of the real thing? Satan surely hopes so. Therefore, what does it mean to believe in the real Jesus Christ of the Bible for eternal life?

It does not mean…

First, It doesn’t mean to believe: that Jesus existed the same way you believe that George Washington or any other historical figure existed.

True belief in the greatest gift of Jesus Christ

True Belief in Jesus Christ is:

  • Involves believing something about ourselves: that we are all sinners… and understanding that we deserve eternal separation from God because of our sins. –  Romans 6:23
  • Believing that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ the Son of God, God incarnate, is the only adequate payment for our sins – John 14:6 – Acts 4:12
  • Understanding that Jesus died on the cross and is alive seated at the right hand of God after paying the penalty for our sins – 1 Corinthians 15:3
  • An act of the mind, the will, and the heart. Jesus said: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.”
  • Repenting of how we’ve lived in the past, dedicating the rest of our lives to Him as our Lord, and living by obedience to His Word as revealed in scripture.
  • However, one point that most people conveniently overlook is Jesus Christ is Lord and King over our lives and deserves our obedience and devotion.
John 1:1

We can have confidence in the greatest gift!

Is it possible to trust in, rely on, and have confidence and faith in the Word of God?
Is it possible to trust in, rely on, and have confidence and faith in Jesus Christ?
YES!
He alone is our ONLY HOPE!
Accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior is as simple as ABC.
Jesus the greatest gift given is the only way to live eternally in heaven.

Jesus is returning soon will you be ready?
Here is how to be sure you are!

The Gospel of Jesus Christ, the greatest gift

Gospel means “good news.” Your debt and the death penalty have been paid; you are now “saved” from the eternal effects of rebellion against your Creator.

Here’s the Gospel of Jesus Christ: “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.” – 1 Corinthians 15:4

Jesus brought in a little child as a living object lesson to show who enters the kingdom of heaven, then  Jesus said: “Unless you become like this little child you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.”  – Matthew 18:3

This is how to be saved, it is as simple as ABC:

A Admit that you are a sinner.

  • Romans 3:10 – As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one.”
  • Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

We are all born sinners destined for hell, which is why we must be born spiritually to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

  • The Bad News: Romans 6:23a – “For the wages of sin is death… in other words, our sin means that we have been given a death sentence, we have the death penalty hanging over our heads, that’s the bad news.
  • The Good News: Romans 6:23b – “… but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This is where godly sorrow leads to genuine repentance for sinning against a righteous God. We change our minds and God changes our hearts and regenerates us from the inside out.

Ephesians 2:8-9 – “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works so that no one can boast.

B Believe in your heart

Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried and that God raised Jesus from the dead.

“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Romans 10:9-10

This is trusting with your whole heart that Jesus Christ is who He said He was.

C – Call upon the name of the Lord.

For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Romans 10:13

Every single person who ever lived since Adam will bend their knee and confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of lords and the King of kings.

For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.”

Romans 14:11

Don’t pass up the opportunity to accept the greatest gift ever given.

I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Jesus Christ John 14:6
