Of all the earthly governments throughout the ages, our Democracy has been the best one to date. However, the best by far will be the government of Jesus Christ when He returns to earth in the not too distant future. His kingdom on earth will be in Jerusalem. With that in mind, what will God’s kingdom be like? Moreover, what should we expect?
“Men of Galilee,” they said, “why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!”
Acts 1:11
Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices shouting in heaven: “The world has now become the Kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever.”
Revelation 11:15
This is the third post in this Kingdom series. You can read the first post in the series here. or click here to read the second post in the series.
The goal of this series is to establish beyond a doubt that accepting the invitation of Christ to be “born again” into the Kingdom of God with all the rights and privileges of citizenship (which seems too good to be true), is where we want to pledge our allegiance. As you read through the series, I hope it helps you to understand our wonderful God a little better.
We Will Rule With Christ
Yahweh’s (God’s Hebrew name) intention, when He created mankind in His image, was to have us rule under His authority. Therefore, one answer to what will God’s kingdom be like? Those who are part of his kingdom will rule with Jesus Christ when he returns.
Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”
So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply.
Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”
Genesis 1:26-28
Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. For them the second death holds no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him a thousand years.
Revelation 20:6
Adams Failure Opens the Door
Due to the failure of Adam & Eve to follow Yahweh’s instructions, they lost that position and opened the door for Satan to step in to rule this world, but only, temporarily. He who desired to replace Yahweh as king failed in his attempt. Resulting in expulsion from Yahweh’s kingdom.
Satan has not given up his dream of replacing Yahweh. In the meantime, he does everything he can to undermine Yahweh’s authority and turn mankind away from their Creator. One of the ways he accomplishes this is through corrupt people and governments.
Propaganda of Lies
Even now many in our country are turning their backs on our governing system and supporting communism and socialism. Moreover, many believe the lies and propaganda of the media and Hollywood’s shinning tarnished “stars”. Reading, researching, thinking and analyzing for your own self is a lost art. Therefore this generation as none other before it is ripe for satanic influence.
Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 6:11-12
Jesus (Yeshua) the Christ (Messiah), is returning to set up his kingdom and end Satan’s agenda.
Satan was defeated by the death, burial and resurrection of Yeshua the Messiah and all that remains is executing the judgment when Jesus returns to this earth. What will God’s kingdom be like? Satanless.
Then the devil, who had deceived them, was thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfur, joining the beast and the false prophet. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Revelation 20:10
Jesus Christ I have made the decision to follow Yeshua and be part of His kingdom and so can you if you have not already done so.
