Jesus our Peace

God’s Peace

Hebrew Name: Jehovah Shalom

God’s peace is what we need in our lives. Our Creator is Peace. As the scripture in Judges 6:24 states: Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and named it Yahweh-Shalom (which means “the Lord is peace”).  Therefore, if there is chaos in your life, that would be the work of the Adversary, the devil. Job tells us in chapter 25:2: God is powerful and dreadful. He enforces peace in the heavens.

  • For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. 1Co 14:33
  • The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. Rom 16:20

The following scriptures are listed to give you encouragement when you are going through life’s struggles.

  • The LORD blesses them with peace. Psa 29:11
  • God speaks peace to his faithful people. Psa 85:8

Our Ultimate Peace

  • Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Rom 5:1
  • This is the message of Good News for the people of Israel—that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. Acts 10:36
  • I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me [Jesus}. Jn 16:33
  • Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Phl 4:7
  • [Jesus said:] I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. Jn 14:27

  • Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble. Psa 119:165
But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm. Pro 1:33

  • But there will be glory and honor and peace from God for all who do good—for the Jew first and also for the Gentile. Rom 2:10
  • Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. Phl 4:9
  • Letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. Rom 8:6

A Prayer for You

I like how Paul closed the two letters to the Thessalonians therefore: I ask you, Lord, to bless those who have taken the time to reflect on your promises of peace. Also, as your scriptures below proclaim, that those who have read your words would be made holy in every way and You would give your peace at all times and in every situation. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

  • May the God of peace make you holy in every way. 1Th 5:23
  • May the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation.  2Th 3:16
