I wanted to share with you a teaching from Amir Tsarfati that he has titled This World Will Never Be the Same. I have followed Amir’s teaching for years. Amir lives in Israel and is a Christian Jew. His home overlooks the valley of Megiddo (Armageddon), which is a constant reminder of the Lord’s calling on him to teach Bible prophecy.
Background of Amir Tsarfati
Amir Tsarfati was born in Jerusalem to a Jewish family and has lived in Israel his entire life. While fulfilling his military duty, Amir served as the deputy governor of Jericho, being tasked to negotiate and coordinate with the Palestinians for a successful Israeli withdrawal from the city.
Following his military service, Amir studied at Israel’s School of Tourism at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. However, after guiding countless church groups God convicted him of the great need to explain Israel and its role in God’s plan. Therefore, in 2001, Amir founded Behold Israel.
Behold Israel provides reliable and accurate reporting on developments in Israel and the region. Amir’s live updates and teachings, based on God’s Written Word, sift out the truth on current events amidst global media bias against Israel. His teachings abroad and in the land explain the central role of Israel in the Bible as a blessing to the nations and a way to bring them to the Word of God and the Messiah.
This World is Not Our Home
Amir reminded ……….. If you put your trust in government, the military, or in constitutions, say goodbye to those things. This world will never be the same. The world is getting more progressive and liberal by the second. Moreover, the Scriptures state that our citizenship is in heaven, not here. Therefore, we need to “shine our heavenly passport” because soon we are going to use it.
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, – Phillipians 3:20
Those who don’t know Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior, are up for a rough ride. This world is going to get worse and worse. There are so many things that this world will go through as Jesus Himself told us in Matthew 24:3-31. Jesus likened them to birth pangs.
This World is Under the Sway of Satan
Someday we will be in His presence forever more. Moreover, only joy and pleasure will be our experience. We MUST keep this in mind when times of difficulty come. Often our minds and emotions want to take us on a different path, one of doubt and seemingly endless despair. Satan and his demonic minions are more than happy to exploit these moments.
We live in intimidating times when wars and rumors of wars abound, economic struggles are a constant, and truth and facts have been replaced with lies and fables. We see the “whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one” (1 John 5:19). Likewise, with the earth quaking, plagues, and famine looming, all these things could lead to forgetting where we are going.
Where to Find Hope in This World
It is easy to get distracted during troublesome times. It takes a conscious decision to remember where we are going and who has made our future of joy and pleasures possible if we want to ensure we don’t let them control us.
I will lift up my eyes to the hills— from whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. – Psalm 121:1-3
Yes, we live in perilous times but be reminded and encouraged that we can trust the Lord at all times, peace is ours to enjoy, and we can be of good cheer because we know where we’re going.
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33
Therefore, be encouraged and stand firm. Likewise, keep your eyes on the One who made the hills, the One who is our help, the Maker of heaven and earth!
