Previously, In my article: Satan is Shrewd we looked at who Lucifer aka Satan was before he was thrown out of God’s kingdom. We also pulled back the curtain to see what he actually did to be cast out and finally how being exiled from God’s Kingdom affected him. The Truth is…Satan Is Not Your Friend!
Here, we will look at how this fallen angel works among the inhabitants of this planet and according to the truth contained in the Word of God, and what his future holds that he desperately doesn’t want anyone to find out.
Two Kingdoms
To begin with, if you have not chosen to accept the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the truth of His death, burial AND resurrection that means you are by default, part of the fallen world system that for now belongs, temporarily to Satan.
Consequently, if you have not chosen to “defect” from his kingdom, you belong to him and will share in the judgment of all that abide in his illegitimate kingdom. Therefore he will not concern himself overly much with you until you begin to ask questions. Questions he doesn’t want to be answered.
Furthermore, like a magician, As long as he can keep you looking in the other direction, blinded to what really is occurring, he will be satisfied with where he has you.
Buyer Beware
Therefore, I need to stress to you the importance of understanding that the Truth is…Satan Is Not Your Friend! Anything he tells you will be lies. Yes, he will mix in a little truth with the lie to make it sound so…..truthful, but buyer beware!
The blinded mind of the unbeliever
In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God…
2 Corinthians 4:4
Conversely, on the flip side of the coin, if you have accepted the work of Jesus Christ, you are now part of the majestic glorious Kingdom of the Most High God, Creator of Everything. However, this means my friends you have a target on your back.
For those who are part of the Kingdom of God, Satan will pull every trick to lure you away from God. He seeks to exploit any weakness you have, in order to deflect you from trusting and being obedient to God. Your mind is his stomping ground if you allow him access.
Join me now as we take a look to see the tactics of Satan and his demons to achieve their goal of luring us away from the One who gave His life to restore the relationship thrown away in the Garden of Eden.
Satan Your Great Enemy
He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God… Ephesians 2:2-3
… Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested…Revelation 2:10 ESV
… Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. ..1 Peter 5:8-9
Then Satan entered into Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve disciples…,Luke 22:3
This dear woman, a daughter of Abraham, has been held in bondage by Satan for eighteen years… Luke 13:16
[Paul said] to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud…2 Corinthians 12:7
We wanted very much to come to you, and I, Paul, tried again and again, but Satan prevented us…1 Thessalonians 2:18
But he [Jesus] turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.”… Matthew 16:23
Do Demons Recognize Who Jesus Is?
- (Jesus) cast out many demons. But because the demons knew who he was, he did not allow them to speak…Mark 1:34
- The demons came out at his command, shouting, “You are the Son of God!” But because they knew he was the Messiah, he rebuked them and refused to let them speak…Luke 4:41
Yes! Absolutely!
Satans Future
- The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet….Romans 16:20
The time for judging this world has come, when Satan, the ruler of this world, will be cast out…John 12:31 - He seized the dragon—that old serpent, who is the devil, Satan—and bound him in chains for a thousand years…Revelation 20:2
- The angel threw him into the bottomless pit, which he then shut and locked so Satan could not deceive the nations anymore until the thousand years were finished.…Revelation 20:3
The Firey Lake of Burning Sulfur
When the thousand years come to an end, Satan will be let out of his prison. He will go out to deceive the nations—called Gog and Magog—in every corner of the earth. He will gather them together for battle—a mighty army, as numberless as sand along the seashore. And I saw them as they went up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded God’s people and the beloved city. But fire from heaven came down on the attacking armies and consumed them. Then the devil, who had deceived them, was thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfur, joining the beast and the false prophet. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Revelation 20:7-10
I conclude by rejoicing in this absolute truth of Satan’s judgment. He who hates mankind so much that he exists only to drag us into that lake of fire with him. Satan reminds me of a two-year-old throwing a temper tantrum because s/he didn’t get their way. Oh yes, how I look forward to that day when the deceiver of mankind will finally be no more!
