Hello, my friends! I am so glad you stopped by for a visit. Help yourself to some old fashion lemonade and put your feet up and rest a bit. It sure has been hot and dry lately. So relax and as you rest here in the shade, let me share with you something I have been pondering about…Who Hijacked Truth?
Earlier in my previous post, I asked the question: Is truth subjective, relative or absolute? Here, I want to dive deeper into this question of What is the truth and why many have varying opinions.
Look with me to see what the book of John, located in the New Testament of the Bible, chapter 18, verses 37 and 38, Pilate asked Jesus:
“So you are a king?” Jesus responded, “You say I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.” Then Pilate asked, “What is truth?”
According to the Online Merriam Webster dictionary Truth is:
- (1): the body of real things, events, and facts: ACTUALITY
- (2): the state of being the case: FACT
- (3)often capitalized: a transcendent fundamental or spiritual reality

Satanic Deception
Many have asked this very same question down through the ages. Incidentally, it started when Adam and Eve turned from The Way, The Truth, and The Life (John 14:6) and listened to the lies of the fallen angel we call Satan. The question Satan asked, “Did God really say?” was his tactic to get the first couple to doubt what God actually said.
In the first place, keep in mind the Lord God had instructed Adam that he could eat from any tree EXCEPT the one tree in the middle of the garden. This was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They would die if they ate from that one tree. (Genesis 2:16-17)
However, Satan lied and refuted what our sovereign God had said. The deceiver’s reply was “You won’t die!” “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.” (Genesis 3:4-5). Hence, the rest, as they say, is history. Satan hasn’t changed his tactics. His modus operandi is still the same today and unfortunately, he has had tremendous success.
Isn’t Truth Relative?
Consequently, today people still wonder if truth even exists. How do we find “The Truth?” After all just because it’s true for you doesn’t mean it’s true for me. Isn’t Truth relative?
However according to the website Got Questions they explain: When someone says that truth is relative, what they normally mean is that there is no absolute truth. Some things may appear true to you but not true to me. If you believe it, it is true for you. If I don’t believe it, it is not true for me. They are expressing the popular belief that truth is relative.
Who Says Truth is Absolute?
We live in a time period where truth is shunned and the lies and deceptions abound and are considered the truth. However, there is only one place to find absolute truth. Where is this precious Saffire of absolute accurateness to be found? Glad you asked Grammy. I will share with you two jewels so many fail to see. (Or rather many choose to ignore.)
Gem #1 God Does Not Lie
God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through… Numbers 23:19
Gem #2 It is impossible for God to Lie
So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us…Hebrews 6:18

We Must Stand for Truth
Therefore according to the above scriptures, the conclusion we must stand upon is God’s Word is trustworthy. As Christ’s ambassadors, we must stand without wavering in a society that, has lost their way. A society that has been manipulated into believing the very opposite of what our Sovereign God has spoken.
But if we are going to take back our children and grandchildren from the grips of these satanic lies that are being shoved down our throats, via the school systems, games, movies, music and so much more, we need to know exactly what the Word of God does say. To help in this area, knowing the business of our lives, it is my desire to give you a place to begin finding the truth.
Our Battle is NOT Against People
So then keep in mind that our fight is not against people per se, but the satanic influence of the world system in which we live. It’s time to suit up in the Armor of God which He has provided and use the authority Christ has given us.
Ephesians 6:12 tells us clearly: For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
So, please make yourself at home and help yourself to my file cabinet. In my files, you will find a growing list of resource tools under the heading “Truth Is”. I will be adding to my file cabinet regularly so come back often for a visit. Mi casa es su casa, or in grammy speak, “you are family so make yourself at home!”
Freely use the files as a quick reference to help encourage yourself and others. Print them and tape them on your mirror or fridge.
Until our next visit, may you find real, lasting, hope and peace in the truth of Jesus Christ.
