Are you convinced of God’s love and faithfulness for you? Many are not. However, many verses throughout the Bible speak of God’s love and faithfulness. Below are 50+ Scriptures that reflect His character and His relationship with each of us. There is no partiality with God. Unlike mankind, in God’s eyes, no one is “greater than” or “less than”.
God’s love and faithfulness are a profound and enduring aspect of His nature. It is not merely an emotion but an active, self-giving love that seeks the well-being of others. The love of our Awesome God is:
- Unconditional – Rom 5:8
- Personal – Isa 43:1
- Transformative – 1 Jn 4:19
- Unfailing and enduring – Ps 136:1-26
- Unchanging and eternal – Lam 3:22-23
- Our Source of Hope and Assurance – Heb 10:23
- Revealed in Jesus Christ – 2 Cor 1:20
The Hebrew Word Used to Describe God’s Love
In the Old Testament, (ḥéseḏ) is the Hebrew word used to describe God’s love. Words in Hebrew have a richness and depth to their meanings. Therefore, translators differ slightly on what word to use to help convey the Hebrew meaning to us in our Western culture.
The word (ḥéseḏ) incorporates mercy, kindness, goodness, grace, and loyalty of our Creator God. Some translations actually combine two words to help us understand the meaning contained in (ḥéseḏ). I have two examples below.
Examples of English Words Used to Translate ḥéseḏ
Example #1 – 1 Chronicles 16:34 – ḥéseḏ is translated as:
- Faithful Love – CSB, ERV, EASY NLT, NIRV
- Faithfulness – NASB
- Grace – CJB
- Gracious – ISV
- Love – CEV, NIV (perhaps these translators gave up…)
- Lovingkindness ASV, AMP
- Loyal Love – LEB NET
- Mercy – KJV, NKJV
- Steadfast – ESV, RSV
Example #2 – Exodus 34:6. The same word (ḥéseḏ) is translated as:
- Faithful, Faithfulness – CSB, HCSB, NOG, NASB
- Goodness – GNV, KJV, MEV, NKJV
- Gracious Love – ISV
- Great Loyalty, – CEB, CEB
- Great Love – CEV, ERV, ICB
- Love – NIV
- Lovingkindness – AMP, ASV, LSB
- Loyal Love – LEB, NET
- Rich In Grace – CJB
- Steadfast Love – ESV, TLB, RSV
- Unfailing love – NLT
Therefore, according to translators, we see that the God of the Bible loves us with a faithful, gracious, loyal, merciful, steadfast, unfailing love. However, God’s love is all these and so much more!
The Word of God contains many truths that reveal the depth of God’s love for us. The Apostle John said, “There are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.”
In these last hours before God pours out His wrath on a Christ-rejecting world, I wanted to remind you how much He loves you. You never need to doubt His Love.
Let me encourage you as you read through the following scriptures to write down the ones where you perhaps thought, “I needed to read this today.” Better yet, you can print out this post in its entirety or your favorite parts using the print-friendly link at the bottom of this post.

In Closing
God’s love and faithfulness are integral to His character and His relationship with us. If you are a Follower of Jesus Christ, this is a reminder of God’s unwavering commitment to His promises and His enduring love for us.
However, perhaps you are part of the 96% that call themselves “Christians” but do not live in obedience to God’s Word. Don’t mock His unfailing Love. Repent and seek His forgiveness so that you will not hear the gut-wrenching proclamation of Jesus Christ at the judgment, saying, “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!”
Through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God’s love and faithfulness are most fully revealed, offering redemption and hope. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, He is waiting for you with His arms wide open! Don’t delay!
Would you like to begin a relationship with Jesus?
