The truth is, God’s Word is true and we are able to trust Him, However as I look back over my life, I ponder on the good, the bad, and the ugly. I realize as a child growing up, I was dealing with sexual, verbal and mental abuse from my own parents, Unfortunately, I was not aware that this was not how families were to behave. And above all, I did not realize I could run to God for protection.
But God, in His mercy was ALWAYS by my side. I know that know, but all I knew as a little child during those years of hell, was that my safe place was with my grandmother. She was “Jesus” with skin on. She was the starting point that God used to draw me to Himself. He pursues us. He initiates the relationship, drawing and wooing us.
Through the process of growing, called life, I have learned that God’s Word contained in the pages of the Bible is absolute truth. Recognizing that fact, I know I can always trust Him in ANY situation. It is my prayer that the following scriptures will give you the same abundant confidence in our Mighty Father God, as it has me!
God’s Word is True Scriptures
The Word of God Stands Forever
Every word of God proves true…Proverbs 30:5
It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it…Isaiah 55:11
I have sworn by my own name; I have spoken the truth, and I will never go back on my word: Every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will confess allegiance to me… Isaiah 45:23
The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.”…Isaiah 40:8
God Does Not Lie
And Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to someone else—one who is better than you. And he who is the Glory of Israel will not lie, nor will he change his mind, for he is not human that he should change his mind!”…1 Samuel 15:28-29
God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through… Numbers 23:19
So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us… Hebrews 6:18
Of course not! Even if everyone else is a liar, God is true. As the Scriptures say about him, “You will be proved right in what you say, and you will win your case in court.”…Romans 3:4
This truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life, which God—who does not lie—promised them before the world began… Titus 1:2
