What We Can Depend On…

So much has happened in our lives here and around the world in the past few years. Ideas, people, and situations that once upon a time you could depend on… well, you find you can’t. The world just wants to go back to normal. However, we are told we have to settle for the “new normal”.  Moreover, we can depend on those in power to tell us who and what we can depend on, which is “them” of course. Cause “they” have our best interests in mind…

Simple Things You Can Depend On

As an early “vintage senior” I thought it would be interesting to take a look at what I have found that I could depend on. When talking with my friend we came up with a few things as we grow older, we could depend on. Such as:

  • Wearing diapers as a baby and as a older vintage senior…
  • Time flying faster the older you get…
  • Hitting every red light when you are running late…
  • When you finally decide to cook dinner, your husband is late. (because…}
  • When you need a caffeine fix, you only have decaf available…
  • No privacy in the bathroom. The intruders used to be kids, now it’s our pets…
  • I can never remember where I put items for safe keeping…
  • Your kids needing to go to the toilet 10 minutes into a road trip…
  • Me needing to go to the to the toilet 10 minutes into a road trip even though I went before I left…
  • Me needing to go to the restroom after eating out before going home…
  • A food spill when you’re wearing white. Or any other color these days…
  • The ‘other’ sock not being in the dryer, no matter how much you search.
  • My dog making me feel like the most loved person in the world.
  • The sun is always shinning even on cloudy days.

Businesses that You Can Rely On

Just for the fun of it I did an internet search on things you can rely on and noticed that it was a widely used tag line used by various businesses. Here is a sampling of the many that want you to know that you can rely on their services.

The Nitty Gritty of Who You Can Trust, Rely on, Depend on etc.

In the age in which we live it is overwhelming to wade through the mass of propaganda to find the truth, you can rely on. Who or what we assumed was a given to always be trustworthy and dependable is no longer true.

Moreover, when land, corporations, services, media, and other commodities have been silently purchased by the few elite crowd around the world you can no longer depend on unbiased truth.

There IS Only One

I enjoyed watching the Highlander films. Their motto was “There can be only one”. What a truth that line reveals. There can be only One that you can count on, depend on, rely on, consistently without ever fearing that there will be a day when He will let you down. His Word is always true and never fails! What He states will ALWAYS come to pass.

Who is the One? None other than Jesus Christ!

He is the number one person that I know I can depend on and so can you!

Jesus Christ is the only source of truth you can ALWAYS count on. This is where I find my strength, peace, and assurance regarding life in this fallen world in the grip of Satan and his puppets.

Meditate on the scriptures below to encourage yourself as we wait for the King of king’s return and the set up of His marvelous Kingdom here on earth.

Be Encouraged

Turn off the chaos and lies and bask in the Truth and Love of the One who gave His life for you. Only on Him and His Word can you depend, rely upon, and trust in! He will NEVER fail to fulfill His Words.

I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved. – Matthew 5:18

Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear. – Matthew 24:35

How precious and encouraging to know that there is One who NEVER lies and we can trust our lives daily into His care!

  • Hebrews 13:8 – Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
  • Proverbs 30:5 – Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.
  • Numbers 23:19 – God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
  • Malachi 3:6 – For I the Lord do not change…
  • Psalm 20:7 – Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
  • Psalm 118:8 – It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in man.
  • Psalm 146:3 – Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.
  • Proverbs 29:25 – The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.

If we would only listen and apply the following… fear would not have a hold over us. Chaos would not reign in our lives and our sleep would be peaceful for the Lord cares for us!

  • 2Samuel 22:31 – As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.
  • Isaiah 41:13 – For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”
  • Deuteronomy 31:6 – Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
  • Psalm 9:10 – And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.
  • Psalm 18:30 – As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.
  • Psalm 34:19 – Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.
  • Nahum 1:7 – The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him.
  • Psalm 54:4 – Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me.
  • Psalm 121:3 – He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber.
  • Jeremiah 17:7 – “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.
  • Philippians 4:6 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
  • 1 Peter 5:6-7 – Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
  • Isaiah 40:31 – But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
  • James 1:17 – Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
  • Isaiah 26:3 – You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
  • John 10:10 – The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

In following Jesus Christ and trusting Him your future is secure in His eternal Kingdom. Moreover, the minute you bow your knee to Him on this earth, every promise in the Bible is yours IMMEDIATELY. The only reason to live in Satan’s realm is by your choice to reject the One who gave His life for you!
