A Wonderful Creation

We are a wonderful creation, a priceless masterpiece created by God. Made in His image. This boggles my mind to think about it. In fact, we are so special that God was willing to become a man and give His life in our place. He never gives up, on us. I pray you are encouraged as you read the scriptures below of just how wonderful you are.

  • God created human beings in His own image. In the image of God He created them; male and female He created them. Gen 1:27
  • Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.   Jer 1:5
  • You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Psa 139:13
  • For we are God’s masterpiece.  Eph 2:10

We are a priceless masterpiece created by God.

You are S. P. E. C. I. A. L. Special!

One of a kind. Unique is what you are. God said it, you can put that ID card in your wallet. Case closed! However…..

Have you ever felt left out, left behind, not part of the crowd? For instance, were you ever the last one selected for team games? Baseball, basketball, or how about dodge ball? Yep, me too. It’s a part of life. Obviously, someone had to be last, and I usually won that spot. Maybe it was my red hair. Possibly it was the freckles. I know, perhaps, it was because I was __________ (you can fill in the blank.)

As a child, it was a painful rejection. As an adult, we need to pull out that ID card God gave us to remind us of how special we are.

The good news is, although we may not have been chosen back then, or similarly, we still are not the one chosen for the job, the choir, the promotion, etc., God has chosen us. Before we were born we were chosen by our Creator, and that means more to me than anything this world offers.

God chose us in advance, and He makes everything work out according to His plan. Eph 1:11

You Have Been Chosen by God

  • For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us.  1Th 5:9
  • Before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace.  Gal 1:15
  • God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and His Spirit has made you holy.  1Pe 1:2
  • God chose you to be the holy people He loves. Col 3:12
  • You must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. 1Pe 1:15
  • God chose us in advance, and He makes everything work out according to His plan. Eph 1:11
  • Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. Eph 1:4

Are you convinced that you are a wonderful creation of God?

Let’s recap:

  • He knew you before you were born
  • He created you
  • You have been specifically chosen
  • You are His masterpiece

Incidentally, beyond all that, God has big plans for you!

Jeremiah 29:11

God’s Plans for You

  • “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”  Jer 29:11
  • The LORD will work out His plans for my life, for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever.   Psa 138:8
  • God has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.  Eph 2:10
  • God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.  Phl 2:13

God has plans to give you a future of good and hope. It may take time but He will bring it to pass. We who follow Christ have been created anew or as Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3:7, born-again.

Plus as we see in the above scripture, He provides the desire and power to carry out the plans He has for us! That, as they say in the business world is a win, win situation.

O yes, two more mind-blowing facts. We are such a wonderful creation of God’s that He keeps a journal of our life, similar to how a parent journals a child’s milestones growing up. (Ps 139:16) And our Father sings to us! (Zep 3:17)

WOW!

Lastly, before I close this post, I want to share with you a special passage of mine.

Psalm 139

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
And knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
As I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
You saw me before I was born.
Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.
How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.
They cannot be numbered!
I can’t even count them;
They outnumber the grains of sand!
Psalm 139:13-18

Stop listening to the lies of worthlessness and listen to the truth of what God speaks!

Passionately loving Jesus, the Anchor of my Soul
