Today I want to share with you “21 Quotes of Jesus Regarding His Purpose”. I pray that you have been encouraged by reading my previous posts regarding quotes of Jesus Christ by topic. I know I have been encouraged by this endeavor. In the turmoil of the past two years, the only and best way to cope is to stay focused on the Word of God.
Just because we follow Jesus Christ does not mean our lives will be a bed of roses. The Lord Himself told us clearly: “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33
I can not phantom not having the Lord to lean on. The sad truth is unfortunately the majority will have nothing to do with Jesus Christ. The result when you turn away from your creator is hopelessness which leads many to act out in varying ways. Many commit suicide.
Therefore, it’s my goal on this website to share the Words of Jesus Christ in various ways. Thereby bringing you His Words, so that you may grow in your relationship with Him. Likewise, if you do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ I pray that you will open your heart to Him.
Listed below are the 21 quotes I found in the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

- Fulfill the Law

6 Quotes of Jesus Declaring What He Did Not Come To Do
Listed below are six quotes I found where Jesus tells us what His purpose was not to do the first time He came to earth. I have left a space so you can print out the post and complete the “but to” part of the quote if you so desire.
#1 – “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to ….” – Mat 5:17
#2 – “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but ….” – Mk 2:17
#3 – “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but to ….” – Mat 10:34
#4 – “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to ….” – Mat 20:28
#5 – “The Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to ….” – Lk 9:56

The Other Reason Jesus Came to Earth
“Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,” – Heb 2:14
“He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” – 1 Jn 3:8
Our Purpose in Life as Christians
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.”
Jesus Quoting Deuteronomy 6:5 in Matthew 22:37
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Jesus Quoting Leviticus 19:18 in Matthew 22:39
Our purpose in life as Christians is to know God and bring Him glory. If you will do that with your life, if you will get up every morning and say to yourself, “I want to know God, and I want to bring Him glory,” then you will find the happiness that has eluded you. You will find the satisfaction you have always wanted by having your priorities in order.”
Pastor Greg Laurie
I want to close this post with my pastor’s sermon from 4.24.22 where he speaks of our need to Pursue the Lord.
Until next time… by the way, I want to ask you:

Maranatha! Until next time, I am Passionately Loving Jesus, the Anchor of my Soul.
