God Notices the Small Seeds

One of the things I enjoy in this techy age is the ability of the internet for research. I especially enjoy using my computer and various bible software programs along with my paper books to learn more about my Creator and Savior. Access to God’s Word has never been easier and God notices the small seeds of your faith in Him.

I have two thoughts to share today, First, I really do not understand why so many Christians do not avail themselves of the awesome tools at our fingertips to learn more and grow closer to God.

We are very blessed in our country to have the freedom to worship Jesus Christ. This includes access to the Word of God in so many formats. That’s why to me, it is almost criminal not to read and study the word of God on our own.

We have time for just about anything else we desire but can’t seem to squeeze in time for the One who gave His life for us! Why is that? God notices how we use our time.

But I digress. My point is with the computer it’s very easy to search for various key phrases in the scriptures that I desire to study. Which brings me to my second thought.

Don’t Despise Small Beginnings

I began researching and compiling my findings after my husband died in 2013. That time period was tough and I needed to search out the scriptures for those I could use to strengthen and encourage myself. I needed God to wrap His arms around me. Therefore, I decided to start with the book of Psalms.

I had no idea at the time how God would use my research other than reinforcing my faith in Him by reviewing how much He loved and cared for me. However, over the past 6 years, I have had different “little” opportunities to share what I have gleaned from my studies with others. God notices how we use our time, for Him. Little opportunities are HUGE in God’s sight.

Consequently, two scriptures come to mind. The first one is from Mark 9:41, If anyone gives you even a cup of water because you belong to the Messiah, I tell you the truth, that person will surely be rewarded.

The second; Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin … Zechariah 4:10

Never, ever listen to the lies from the demonic realm that whisper in your ear that you’re wasting your time. Satan wants to drag you down to his sorry level. He may even use a good friend, a family member or worse a trusted “church” member to discourage or belittle you! GASP! Say it isn’t so!

God Notices the Small Seeds of Your Efforts

Whatever you do for the Lord, for His glory does NOT go unnoticed by Him. Never let someone bust your bubble in your offering of the smallest of seeds for His glory. You keep doing what God has planted in your heart.

This means you keep smiling; someone needs to see that smile. Continue painting that rock, take a photo or write your poem. If you sense God prompting you to send a card or make a phone call, you do it for Him.

Make fancy letters and drawings in your journal notes to praise Him. Carry a bag of groceries for someone. Cook a meal, give a ride, sing a song. Play checkers with a lonely soul. You get the idea, I’m sure!

23 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. 24 Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.

Colossians 3:23-24

GOD sees your efforts on His behalf.

As my pastor said one Sunday, No good deed goes unpunished. There will always be a puppet of Satan to try to discourage you. But they are jealous and Satan is a liar!

Hang in there and be encouraged because God notices the small seeds!

“The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’
